What do you know of Seaplanes?

My dreams to continually enlighten the public about Aviation and Tourism, and how this can enhance Tourism and more employment in Africa.
So talking on Sea plane and all you need to know:
Seaplanes are suitable for geographies with large water bodies, so as to provide last mile connectivity by Air to destinations. These are some Tips to know about seaplanes:

  •   Seaplanes are amphibians fixed wing Aircraft's of relatively smaller capacity.
  •   They are best suited for topographies having calm water bodies like lakes, backwaters, reservoirs etc.
  •   It requires landing area of 1.25km length and 250m width in a water body with a minimum dept of 1.2m.
  •  Flight operations are only during the day time as per Visual Flight Rules.
  •   operates from a place called Waterdromes
  •   Houseboats are modified as terminals and hence do not require much constructions or infrastructure.
  •   It’s project is very much cheaper than building an airport and it grants quicker profits.
  •   The waves created are lesser than that of an outboard engine mounted speed boat and since the propeller is above water level no turbulence or contamination due to the gases will be produced in water body due to propeller movement, unlike speedboats.
  •   Seaplanes do not discharge sewage or oily bilge water and are not treated with toxic anti-fouling paints unlike boats.
  •   Seaplanes use ATF - having least pollution among fuels and exhaust is not emitted into water, with practically no impact on water quality.
  •  The engines are not cooled through heat exchangers as in marine engines hence no such impact on flora and fauna.
  •   Excess fuel after engine shut-down is collected in the accumulator and emptied on a regular basis in only the regular airports to prevent any water pollution.
  •   Only for a short durations of time during takeoff, seaplanes produce a level of noise comparable to that of speedboat engines and during landing, they practically glide down without any noise.
