“the world’s most expensive and exclusive” airline seat

A Miami-based businessman is officially this week’s fanciest flyer.

Gino Bertuccio has become the first passenger to fly in what has been dubbed “the world’s most expensive and exclusive” airline seat—  the Residence, a “penthouse in the sky” on Etihad Airways that costs $21,000.

Bertuccio’s trip marked the inaugural flight of the first of ten Airbus A380s that feature The Residence — a three-room suite complete with bedroom, bathroom, and its own dedicated butler.
"There were many firsts on this inaugural flight – new amenities, services and other innovations to try," Bertuccio,  who runs Ligi Import Corp, an Italian cosmetic retailer, told the Daily Mail. “My only wish was that the flight was longer.”

The trip was seven-hour journey between the UK and United Arab Emirates capitals. The airline plans to begin offering regular service on the plane.

According to the Mail, Bertuccio has travelled on 22 inaugural and final flights in premium class cabins in the last 25 years.
